Welcome to A Slice of Heaven and Home of the Gourmet Pizza! All of the Italian food created in our family owned and operated restaurant is made to order. At A Slice of Heaven we hand-pick our produce from locally grown farmers to ensure the finest and freshest ingredients for our signature family recipes that are prepared in house.
Growing up in New York and Connecticut, Dave and Patricia had a lot of opportunities to experience some great Italian cuisine and especially pizza. Dave grew up in Norwalk Connecticut, the youngest of 6 children. His parents were hardworking and instilled in him that kindness, hard work and honesty were the best tools to have a happy and successful life. Dave’s mother and grandmother taught Dave how to make great tasting lasagna, one of his favorite foods! Dave was a football hero in his hometown and was outgoing and sociable. He was friends with the pizza owners in town and developed a keen knowledge of what makes a great tasting pizza.
Patricia grew up across Long Island Sound New York. She and her brother John grew up in a home that was filled with delicious aromas and delicacies. When he wasn’t whipping up some fantastic Italian specialties at home, their grandpa John took them to the finest Italian restaurants in the 5 boroughs. Patricia and John were raised in a home where their parents promoted that “La Familia”, (the family) was one of the most important things in life. There were always gatherings with aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, and friends sharing great food, wine, laughs and funny stories.
They grew up… Dave and Patricia went to Hofstra University where they both learned how important great pizza is to college students. They spent many afternoons bonding over great discussions of books and the amazing culture around them, usually while sharing pizza at the University tavern. Dave and Patricia married in 1993, and have 2 wonderful sons. They moved to Port St. Lucie following their marriage to be with their family who had relocated to the Treasure Coast.
A long time has passed since then but something that has not changed is their passion for good food, good times, and a love of family and friends. In 2015, after 25 years of working as a telecommunications technician, Dave discussed with his brother-in-law John, that he had a dream of opening a small intimate family oriented Italian restaurant. John, who had been a chef and owner of a restaurant thought it was a great idea. The two decided to sell the idea on Patricia, a school librarian and the dream became a reality when they opened A Slice of Heaven in 2016.
A Slice of Heaven has become a joy and haven of comfort to our family and we hope you enjoy it as much as we do!
